Building Relationships: Professionals tour Act-UK Simulation Centre
A select group of professionals from across Coventry and Warwickshire were given a private tour of ACT-UK, the UK's first virtual reality construction management training centre, by ACT-UK's Chairman Clive Benfield.
ACT-UK (Advanced Construction Technologies (UK) Ltd) opened its doors to members of Coventry & Warwickshire First (www.coventryfirst.co.uk), who were treated to a detailed walk-through of ACT-UK's futuristic training facility, which is based in Cheetah Road at Coventry University&rsquos Technology Park.
The facility uses state-of-the-art virtual reality simulation together with site offices, actors and cutting-edge technologies to create the environment of a real-world building project.  The guests were guided through a virtual building site modelled on a recent real-life building project at Alderman's Green in Coventry.
Karen O'Donoghue, Chief Executive of Coventry First comments: "The ACT-UK simulation centre is absolutely amazing. It totally typifies the inventiveness of our city and our region. It is wonderful to see the practical application of such leading edge technologies, which represents a paradigm shift in training and education."
ACT-UK's chairman Clive Benfield commented: "We are delighted to show-case our state of the art facility to the regions&rsquo professional services sector.
